Our previous etsy user name was SassyStampinDivas we have just relocated and will be calling ourselves Divas3Design. You can find our shop listing by visiting http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7781509

We will also be changing our business name to Divas3Design and relocating our blog soon.

Our decision to change names was a very hard decision to make but we have been getting a lot of responses from customers that think we are Stampin Up because of the word Stampin in our name.

Although stamping is part of what we do with our business (ie, hand stamped greeting cards), our business also largely consists of digital scrapbooking services, and photo cards. So our new name just seems to fit better and likely will not cause too much confusion.

We will be making updates all month and will notify you as changes are made. We appreciate our followers and hope that you will continue to follow us as we make this move permanant

As promised, here are some photos of my paper bag album. They have become a very popular item for us. We will be holding a class soon to teach you how to make these adorable little albums. My finished paper bag album has 10 inside pages and 3 pull out cards for photos and journaling. They make great gifts for Mom and Grandma. This past week we had a booth at our local county fair. We thought it would be the perfect opportunity to let our community know of our scrapbooking services. We done it as a promotional venue but as an added bonus we also sold a few items.

My Chipboard Album

Mom and I are preparing to promote The Sassy Stampin Divas at the Daviess County Fair next week. The above photos are of a chipboard album that I completed. this album we will be displaying at the fair. As you can see, I used photos from earlier in the week and based this album around the "Cousins" theme. It turned out really cute, I think. We have been working on some paper bag albums too. I'll post them later on.

I was browsing a local photographer's website and found a really neat photo of a high school senior sitting in the middle of a chalk drawing. And that was the inspiration for my photos on the left.

So, I ran outside with my 4 year old and her sidewalk chalk, and had her write her name on the new blacktop and draw some other doodles.

She said "But mommy what if a car comes? I'll get ran over!" I told her "It's ok, I'll watch for cars." I never let my child play in the street so she was a little confused. When she was finished drawing I posed her in the road near her drawing and snapped a few shots. I wanted to get a little bit higher to get the shot so I had my ladder propped up on the street. Alexis was a bit fussy and wasn't really wanting to pose for me, so it took several shots and along with my pleas for cooperation.

Then I decided I would do the same using Alexis and her cousins. Now getting 2 four year olds and a 6 year old to cooperate all at the same time was quite a chore. I'm sure the neighbors thought I was crazy for sure! But overall I'm pleased with my results.

2 Page Wedding Layout

The other night I was looking through a Readers Digest and ran across an ad about Texas. As soon as I seen it I thought what a wonderful digital scrapbook layout this would be. I had downloaded some pictures from Stock.xchng and thought they would make an awesome wedding layout. I love the way it turned out and it was so much fun using such wonderful pictures.

This layout is a great way to use lots of pictures, I used thirteen all together.

This is two 12x12 inch pages and would be displayed side by side in a scrapbook. I think they would also look nice framed side by side. This is an example of what we could create with your wedding pictures.

Scraplings

This is what us card makers call a scrapling. A scrapling is a small card that measures approximately 1.25"x4.25" A scrapling can be a little bit wider but the whole concept of making scraplings is to use leftover scraps from your everyday cardmaking. I came across this idea on Splitcoast Stampers and I just love it. It is a very clever way of getting rid of your excess paper waste.

I think they make cute bookmarks, or tags for gifts.

Here is my creation for this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge. I used my new stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms-Time To Stamp. I love, love, love, this stamp set! Designer paper My Minds Eye the Laundry Line. Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ribbon and ticket corner punch, and Bazzill card stock. This was a great challenge, it really inspired me to get out my new stamp set. I never really intended to make a card using this stamp, I actually had it in mind for an altered art project that I'm planning.

The flu has officially run its course through our whole family, and has really put a damper on our blog posting. We expect to get back to regular posting as soon as possible. I think it is important to show the versatility of a stamp set. I have used Papertrey Ink's Borders and Corners Hearts stamp several times throught the last 2 months. As you can see, by looking through our past posts, you can create several cards using one stamp set and still create diverse cards. In this card I've stamped my own background using the borders and corners heart stamp. By using a little creativity, you can stamp your own backgrounds and eliminate the need for Designer Paper in some projects.

Black and Pink Card

I got the idea for using black and pink from this card. I also used her technique for paper piecing the wall and floor by using the same paper for both and drawing a black mark to separate the wall from the flooring. I also colored the floor portion in pink. I cut out the chair and girl. I colored the chair and the girls neck, hands, and feet. I paper pieced her paints and shirt. I covered her shirt with frosted lace stickles to add some sparkle. I decided to color the phone green to break up the black and pink. I finished the inside with pink cardstock and a narrow black scallop border on the bottom.

Altered Wood Letters

This is a project that I've been fantasizing about for quite some time, and I finally dove in and got it started! We are remodeling our family room and when it is done I have one wall where I'm wanting to hang some family photos, under the photos I'll be hanging my altered letters. I finally found this letter F at my LSS. Now I'm in search of the lower case letters to finish spelling out the word Family, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. So if you know where I can find them, please drop me a line.

This letter F is about 6.5" long and 1/2" thick. I used tacky glue to adhere my Basic Grey designer paper. Once dried I sanded all of my edges smooth. Then I tied various ribbon on my letter, the larger ribbon on the bottom is from Stampin' Up! the other two came from a LSS. I threaded some hemp twine through some old buttons I had lying around and then frayed the edges and attached with glue dots. I made the tag with some green bazzil card stock and inked the edges in Chocolate Chip ink. I stamped the word family on the tag using Studio G lowercase alpha that I got from my LSS for $1.09. I love how it turned out. Now I can't wait to get the rest of my letters and get my room finished as well!

Photobooks To Preserve Memories

We've been working on a photobook for my Grandmother. She is 88 years young and has led an interesting life with lots of ups and downs. We are hoping to capture these treasured moments in this book we are creating. Slowly we are getting the pages done, when we are finished it will be 20+ pages. This book will easily become a family heirloom, I'm sure.

These pages are all digital and we will have it printed at Shutterfly and bound into a story book. The page you see above is the first page of the book. We will be posting more pages as we go along.

This card measures 4x4 inches. The base is made with Bazzil cardstock. I used designer papers from My Minds Eye (one of my favorite paper companies) The scallop behind the bella image was punched with the Stampin' Up! scalloped border punch. The image stamped here is "huggybella" from Stampin' Bella colored with prisma watercolor pencils.

In an attempt to get new stampers to our stamping classes, we are placing this card along with a ballot box in some local businesses. We will pick one person, who enters their name in our drawing box, to win a free class!

Masculine Cards

Here is a very masculine Valentine card that I created. Masculine cards are quite challenging for me but I really love how this one turned out. I stitched the layers, which for me is challenging in its self lol. On the tag I stamped the xoxo sentiment from Define Your Life Stamp set from SU with chocolate chip ink. This was our make and take area. This was the area where our guests could make the nice little card shown here to take home with them.

This is a picture of our Christmas tree all decorated up with ornaments made from the Onboard Trinkets Kit in the Holiday Mini. It really turned out cute!

Trick Or Treat

Here is Alexis all hyped up about going trick or treating. She is only 3, but we had quite a debate about what she would be for Halloween. First it was a scarecrow, then we decided on a mummy, but in the end Alexis always wins, she wanted to be a black cat. Her black cat idea really turned out great! I'm not quite sure how she got the idea but I think it may have had something to do with Dora the Explorer. We took her to a halloween party and she won 3rd place for the best costume in her age group. We were so proud!

On Board Trinkets Ornaments

We just got our On Board Trinkets Ornaments (item #113680) so we have been playing around a little. They make very cute ornies and are so easy. This kit will make more than 40 ornaments. This kit is a combination of Designer series paper and chipboard that has already been die cut. Within the kit is a combination of words, stars, and some other classic ornament shapes. Comes with 6 sheets of die cut chipboard and 6 sheets of matching die cut Designer paper.

More Details For Altered Door Hangers

Ok, so I made another door hanger but this time I took pictures during the process. I hope you find these helpful for making you own door hangers!

I started with my painted wooden door hanger as pictured above.

Next I cut my cardstock to about the size of my door hanger and used adhesive to attach the cardstock to the door hanger.

Once I have my cardstock attached , I turn the door hanger over and cut away the excess cardstock.

So now I'm ready to stamp a background on my cardstock. Here I am using Riding Hood Red Ink and a stamp from the Enjoy Life stamp set.

Here I have prepared my image for the front of my door hanger. I used a stamp from the Pun Fun stamp set and stamped in Pacific Blue Ink on whisper white cardstock. I stamped the same image on another piece of whisper white card stock but this time in Riding Hood Red Ink. From the image that I stamped in the Riding Hood Red Ink I cut the wings out and the the window and pieced them onto my original image stamped in Pacific Blue. I layered this onto a piece of Pacific Blue cardstock.

Finally, I attached my image to the front of the door hanger and wrapped some hemp twine around the bottom and tied it off in a knot. And there is my completed project. You can add more ribbon, brads or other embellishments. You can also add your child's name, this makes a nice door hanger for a kids room.

Altered Door Hanger Tutorial

Here is a very cute door hanger I made earlier today so I'm going to share with you a very simple tutorial for making this. For this door hanger I used the following supplies:

Materials:

wooden doorhanger

Stampin' Up! card stock Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, & Whisper White

Stampin' Up! classic ink Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss

Stampin' Up! stamp set Eastern Blooms

Stampin' Up! stamp set Define Your Life

Tombo Multi Purpose Adhesive

Craft Knife

Hemp Twine

Craft Paint

Step 1. To prepare my wooden door hanger I painted one side of it with an off white craft paint. (you can use any color you like)

Step 2. Cut a piece of card stock just a little bigger than the size of your door hanger. (for mine I used Tangerine Tango) Using your Tombo Mutipurpose Adhesive liberally apply glue to the front of your door hanger. Attach your cardstock to the front of the door hanger and press firmly to make sure the cardstock is adhering well.

Step 3. I used the small flower stamp in the Eastern Blooms set to create a pattern on my cardstock. I randomly stamped the flower using Tangerine Tango ink on my Tangerine Tango cardstock. This created a cute little background pattern on my cardstock.

Step 4. Place your door hanger face down on a cutting pad or piece of cardboard. Using a craft knife cut all of the excess card stock off of the edges of your door hanger and the inside of the handle.

Step 5. Once you have trimmed all of the excess cardstock away, you can use a sanding block or small piece of sand paper to smooth the edges.

Step 6. Now you are ready to decorate the front. I used the Eastern Blooms stamp set combined with a sentiment from the Define Your Life stamp set but you can use any stamp set you like. For an added touch you can tie ribbon around the handle (I used twine in this example).

A Day At The Zoo

It was Labor Day weekend and I decided that I would take my daughter to the Zoo. We went on Sunday and it was miserably hot, it reached 94°F. Alexis was cranky, hot, and tired. The Zoo had a Splash area with water sprinklers set up for kids so Alexis changed into her bathing suit and I let her loose to play. The Splash Park really saved the day.

We are working on a photo book of my (Diana) mother. It will feature her, her children, and grandchildren. This is the cover I designed but I'm not sure what I think. I thought the spine would look nice in the matching polka dot, the back would be in the solid green. I haven't ran this past Amanda yet, she may have a better design in mind.

We think we have decided on "We Share A Common Thread...Grandma" for the title.

Handstamped Baby Announcement

This a birth announcement we made using the Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set from Papertrey Ink. We cut the base 12x4¼. We scored it at 11" and at 5½". We folded it up at the 1" score to make a pocket.

We used a computer generated announcment on the inside, printed on Vintage Cream card stock from PTI. We are loving this cardstock!

Our Hometown Flood

The above picture is the street we live on.

We have been out of our home due to the flooding in our small town in Elnora, Indiana. We are located very close to the white river and the river grew so high that it began spilling over the top of our levee despite all of our sandbagging efforts. We had to evacuate the town for a couple of days due to the flooding but we are back home and safe. Our home had no water damage but others in town did not fare as well.

It will take a couple of weeks to get life back to normal around here but we are all working together to cleanup. The smell in town is horrible (like fish and stagnant water) other than that the water is still falling and we are doing well.

I used a cupcake and star stamp from Studio G. Designer papers are from Cloud9Designs Love U Dots Series. I colored my image using Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils, and I placed a little frosted lace stickles on the cupcake icing.
